Facilities and Notice for Presentations
Oral Presentations
All the oral sessions on Wednesday and Thursday (21-22 November) will
take place in lecture room 831, and those on Friday through Sunday
(23-25 November) in lecture room A201. All the usual facilities will
be available for oral presentations in these lecture rooms. These
facilities include computer projector, overhead projector, microphone,
pointer, etc. The invited lectures are 30 min in length (= 25 min
presentation + 5 min discussion). The contributed oral presentations
are 20 min in length (= 15 min presentation + 5 min discussion),
except for those in the young scientist session where they are 15 min
in length (= 12 min presentation + 3 min discussion). A laptop
computer with MS Windows XP Professional (Japanese version) and MS
PowerPoint 2003 will be available for oral presentations. Speakers
planning to use PowerPoint are asked to bring their talks on a flash
drive (USB stick). These should be given to the computer assistant(s)
in the lecture room at least 20 min before the start of the session to
check the slides. If you wish to use your own computer for your
presentation, you are advised to allow plenty of time before the
session for set-up, and also to bring a copy of your talk on a flash
drive as a back-up. Mac PC users should bring your own PC with an
adaptor cable.
Poster Presentations
The poster sessions will take place in a student hall "Oasis". The
space available to display each poster is 150 cm in height and 90 cm
in width. The poster number is displayed on the upper left corner of
the poster board so that you can find out the place for your
presentation. All posters can be put on boards from the morning of
Friday 23 November and displayed until the end of the
Conference. Posters of odd numbers will be discussed on Friday 23
November and those of even numbers on Saturday 24 November. Push-pins
will be available for displaying posters.
